Lexus SC Head Removal Instructions

The following instructions are for the removal of the A/C Climate Control Unit on 1992
through 1996 LEXUS SC300/SC400

1. Pull up the EMERGENCY BRAKE sc-head-removal-v2-page-1-image-0001.jpg
2. Remove flip up cup holder sc-head-removal-v2-page-1-image-0002.jpg
3. Remove the two screws underneath sc-head-removal-v2-page-1-image-0003.jpg
4. Press the Shift Lock Override button and put your car into Neutral sc-head-removal-v2-page-2-image-0001.jpg

5. Using a flat head screwdriver to pull down on the plastic covering on the bottom of your shifter, it should reveal 2 screws. Take those screws and remove the shifter.

6. Pop up the gear shifter cover gently. There are 4 pop in clips total around the cover.

7. Unplug the "ECT Power" button control from the cover.

8. Now you have to remove the 4 screws that are holding down the center trim. sc-head-removal-v2-page-3-image-0002.jpg
9. Gently pull out the center trim and gain access to the Climate Control unit and the Radio. sc-head-removal-v2-page-3-image-0003.jpg
10. Remove the harness that attached to the center trim. sc-head-removal-v2-page-4-image-0001.jpg
11. Remove the 6 yellow screws and pull out the Climate Control/Radio assembly. Remove the 4 screws and cables harness and pull out the unit. sc-head-removal-v2-page-4-image-0002.jpg
